Lost Forever

fINE. I'll post another. Its been awhile. Lets see.
A long, long time ago. In a town not far from here. I lost my quickbuild virginity. Yes'r, my first quickbuild. Apparently I was at the Yarmouth one, but I was 3 so, o well. I was the official gopher, and as such I got privelaged parking. While everyone else had to walk up the driveway, I drove right on in to the Kitchen tent. On authorization of Willis. Smacka. And I even got a boo boo. Sliced my finger to bits... kinda like a paper cut but with a steel door. And its all Josh's fault. But alas, the hall is done on the outside and the innards soon to follow. It was fun. And so organized. I talked to a lot of people in stores that week and they were all like "WOW- thats going up quick." It was cool. Looking forward to the 2nd phase and to more builds... who will be next (shifty eyes- you just cant see them).
Unfortunately, I'm behind in the tract work. Only had 2 days at it. On the upside, I have my time.
Schwing!
And I was out this morning in service and saw some awesome rainbows. Some even turned into double ones. And then one sister in the car told a story. Ever since childhood she was terrified or the Noah story. Floods! And then she was like - thats why i like rainbows! Lesson. Sunday school for kids- not such a good idea for other than the obvious!
Next up- circuit assembly. Supposed to be a doozy. I love it!

Well, the CO visit went off without a hitch. I mean, the weather sucked, but at least nobody died. Good accomplishment. It is, it is. And when I say the weather sucked, I mean it was aweful. 2 times I was supposed to work with the CO and his wife, and 2 times we were like - you know what, I dont even really need the time. . . yeah lets just go home. Hey, even CO's get wet in the rain.
And onto other news. Next comes the QUICKBUILD. What will it be like? What will I wear? Will there be girls? ;) jk

achoo. Yup I'm sick. I should've done the Public Talk here yesterday but Saturday night I told dad "You might want to get a talk ready, I think I'm getting sick." And I did. My throat was killing me yesterday. But I went to the meeting. And people were there. Not saying they came specifically for me, but Julcsi did drive from Digby that morning, Kyla came home with my talk being part of the reason - and brought Lisa with her, and a guy from the territory came expecting to hear me. So, everyone was like "Are you nervous?" And I wasn't! But now I'm missing service and I am a little... blah. Don't wanna go to bed but don't wanna be awake. And I''ve kicked back so many hot Toddy's I actually like the flavor. Last night's mixture was lemon juice, Fireball Whiskey, Vanilla Vodka, and Bacardi Rum with a little hot water. STRONG. But I slept like a baby.
Happy September 11th. Yeah I know. Tragic. But its also Devon and Rhonda's Anniversary. Kudos.
In other news, I was apprehensive about turning 20. Wish I didn't. Someone I know and respected for her work and zeal for Jehovah died the morn of my 20th. I shall add her to the list of people I'm waiting to see brought back.

Alas. Today finishes my life as a teen. In 4 hours and 27 minutes, I shall be 20. And I am kind of depressed. "My best years behind me." HAH. More like "Okay, that was bad, how much worse can it get? Were those SERIOUSLY the best years of my life? All I got was grief?!?!" Or some other drivel like that. All in all, I guess they weren't that bad. Baptism, started regular pioneering, became a MS, graduated, went to pioneer school, went to Florida 4 times, went to Venezuela, got a car, lived thru 9/11, saw Scatman John, Aaliyah, Peirre Trudeau, Dale Earndhart, all die... to name a few. ok thats parts depressing. Anyway. I shall hold my head high and cry as I go to work tonight (what a way to have the teens go out, eh?)
ALIAS!!!! I SAW ALIAS COME ON THE SCENE!!! And with it Jennifer Garner (oh yeah). ;)

Usher the New Year

7insanity7
Well, so ends the 2005 Service Year. Did I accomplish all I had hoped for? Not totally. I did manage to get someone to come to the hall ... my Aunt and Uncle for the Memorial. I didn't, however, manage to start a hundred studies and have 83 get baptized. So, gotta work on that. This year, my goal is to start a progressive bible study that wants to study, is male, is under 60, and will come to the hall. We are taught to be specific in our prayers. Well, I'm quite sure if I were to say "2 kids, blue eyes, married, and fun" would be a stretch, but what the hey. I just want to say I accomplished something. Anyway, I digress.
So, now I shall go to bed. Knowing full well I am now 840 hours in the hole. But it's okay. I'm not worried. There's more with me than is against me. I may have every person in our territory trying to kill me (about 20 000 people). But should Jehovah want to, he can send one angel to kill them all. Heck, he could send 5 angels and destroy all Nova Scotians. He could send 176 angels to wipe out Canada. Or send just over 35 000 to whack the whole human race (minus us of course - All the JW's in the world being saved will probably mean 35 angels are unemployed for that job)). Wasn't that fun, now?

I've done it. I've officially got my time. Technically I had it on Monday (those last couple of hours on day 362). But with tomorrow being the last day- its nice. And then back to the grind. 840 again... maybe they'll lower it ;).
Today I did not a lot. Did some work around the house. Relaxed. Didnt go out in service (which felt like a day off since I woulda been getting 7 hrs).
And tonight I worked. On the way home there was a Police check (I think that's a dumb name for it - "DO you have our missing Policeman? Ok, just checking") and I got the hot Policegirl. *drool. She leaned into the car to see if I was drinking, checked out the back, we chatted, exchanged phone numbers, she's gonna study and come to my talk, and later we shall wed, AND SHE CAN PROTECT ME! Ok, so maybe some of that was ... not as true as the rest. But she was pretty. ;)

I've been gone. I know- I'm never all there. But I went to Halifax on Wednesday after service and got home last night. I was in Lockeport for Wednesday afternoon service and then kept on trucking. Got to Kylas just long enough to take my stuff up to her apartment, then went to her meeting. It's kinda neat having the same meeting 2 nights in a row. Then Thurs night we went out with some people to "Your Fathers Mustache" for wings. Oy. I asked for a Sprite and they gave me a vodka and water. Whats up with that. Oh well. Went to the Buskers Friday night, which was pretty good. The fire show at 11pm was great. Lasted for more than an hour. Contortionists, fire breathers, break dancers, fireworks- not too shabby. One girl was definately Disney grade material. A1. And Saturday night some people came over and we played "Mob". What a great game. It's kind of like a twisted Clue where it's Citizens vs. Mafia and they have to get rid of the other group, all the while each person is either a citizen or Mafia but nobody else knows it. Lots of fun. Thinking of teaching everyone and having a massive game! I bought the Mobile CD- I think I'm in love. They're great.
Well, I must retire for the day. Going in service this afternoon. I think I'm under 20 for hours now!
Woot.

The Liverpool

IT's true. I went to Liverpool yesterday for service. It wasn't too bad except for the "had to leave at 7:50 from home" part. Oh well. David told me where to go, and so I was on the right road but there was a car behind me. So I pulled over to let him go since I was house hunting- and it was him and Chad. Very disconcerting. Anyway, it was just like old times in service, except it wasMe, Amie, Colby and David... in Liverpool... in a different car... and everything was different...
In the afternoon I went with David on a study with a guy who is in his 20's. Apparently he said before about how cool it would be to talk about the bible on a grassy hill like Jesus did on the Sermon on the Mount. So we did. We drove over to Willis and Pearl's house (they were gone) and did the study sitting on their back yard. Very relaxing. Verrrry relaxing.
Then we ended off with basketball. Yeah. Been prob 3 or 4 years since I've played anything resembling a game. Needless to say, my skills haven't improved. I was hoping for something like "spontaneous talent" or "Athletic evolution". Doesn't exist.
Anyway it was a great day. I learned a lot more about MTS. Only 2 things can make me miss going to MTS now
1) Death
2) Armageddon
I wouldn't mind number 2...

Alas this morning I started service early. Not my idea I have to admit. But at least I got to have a "conservation" with someone. An older guy around the corner from me. It was 9:00 am when we knocked on his door. He came and here's how it went:
HIM - Isn't it a bit early for you to do this?
ME - Nope.
HIM - Why you all dressed up like a businessman? Who are you trying to impress?
ME - Nobody. I'm talking to people about the bible. Don't you think the bible deserves some dignity and for people to look good?
HIM - NO.
ME - Well I do.
HIM - I thought the Mormans didn't come out this early.
ME - We're Jehovah's Witnesses, not Mormans. We're not wearing backpacks (ha ha)
HIM - So you dress up like a businessman for the bible. So it's a business for you. You go around selling Watchtowers.
ME - We don't sell them, we...
HIM - Oh right- you leave them for a "donation".
ME - (getting a bit edgy) No, we leave them for people to read. If they want they can make a donation...So, a lot of people see things in the world that upset them... such as the wars in the middle east.
HIM - I know an army recruit officer that would love for you to sign up to go over to Afganistan. But you probably wouldn't go, will you?
ME - Probably not. I don't think I could manage that kind of a change right off.
HIM - And you'd get your suit dirty. Goodbye.
Oy
some peoples kids. I mean- WHAT IS THEIR PROBLEM???
Well, another month down the gullet. Last month of the year... service year. Then September starts ALL over again. Back with none banked for time. but not in the hole.... :D

So I'm at Kylas. I went out in service this morning with some from Fairview... mainly cuz nobody from Kyla's hall was there for service... anyway had a fun time. I talked to one Chinese woman with very broken English. She accepted the Keep on the Watch brochure and let me read her 2 Peter 3:13. And she asked "Can you bring me back a book for my 6 yr old daughter?" Uh- YEAH!
So right now my hormones are raging. I'm moody, bloated, tired and I want chocolate! JK. Today I was dared to take a birth control pill. :P So I did. Mainly cuz I'm a smart male who knows I have no estrogen in my system and therefore it won't hurt me... and I won't get pregant. OK fine. I just wanted a cheap high. Can you blame me?
Meanwhile, yesterday I went to one of my calls... ok, backtrack more. On Saturday I went to my call (the boyfrind of the druid who has now moved out of her house and back with his ex-wife till he and the druid wed :S) and he said he wants to start a Christian band- do I know anyone interested (NO!). He's a drummer. Then yesterday I went to another call who said the same thing and he's guitar/keyboard. I said "no..." The last thing I want is all my calls ganging up on me and comparing what they don't agree with!
And another thing- how come I can stand between a cordless phone/ cell phone/ radio and LET the waves go through me and not feel violated? How do you even sue a company for than anyway?!?!

So in service yesterday I went to my Druid call, Teddy. One thing- don't call her a witch; kinda makes her mad (if it's just as a joke she doesn't mind). She has a liver disease, so her twin sister from England came over to give her a graft or transplant. And her sister was in Superstore when the wife of a Minister of one of the most influential churches in our area came up to her and just lost control. Said they were gonna run Teddy off the Island, blah blah blah. So Teddy found out and was like "and theyre supposed to be Christians??!?!?!" I said "Obviously theyre not TRUE christians." Anyway I'm rather quite sure now that she may be possessed. So I make sure I take an elder.
Then I went to the Library, which is new and has been opened for about a month now, to see what kind of a Religious section they have. Hardly at all! So I asked if I could donate some books, and the woman said after the Grand Opening they'll have more time to take them. So, I should have a good 15 book placement next month ;P.
Anyway. I know who I am going to marry. Her name is Hind Hariri. She is 22. She is Lebanese. And she is worth 1.4 Billion. Okay fine. Maybe i won't. But it's not just about the money. I've always wanted dual citizenship with Lebanon. :P jk. Check her out on http://www.forbes.com/lists/2006/10/9IAT.html

Yesterday was exciting. The hall work day was eventful. We got the outside painted and the trim as well. Its a nice light sage green with a darker shade on the trim and doors. Spanky. The window is in and the walkway is nearly ready for cement. I got nominated to go on the roof and paint the 3 ft high by like 30 ft wide of siding where the new part is higher than the old. Well, it was 30C on the ground, and I know it was at least 40C on the roof. Near the end I couldn't even touch the shingles they were soooo hot. Then I was wondering if I had to do one coat or 2, at which point my roller came off and rolled down into the bushes.... So one coat it was. It was great- we all burned, we all got sun-stroke, and had tonnes of fun *koff.
Then off to Halifax for the night at Kyla's to go to the Grad dance. Wasn't too shabby. I don't think I got a picture of it, but the colored lights in the corners of the dancefloor were sooo great. The shadows it cast were off all kinds of colors. Music selection was... interesting... from Spansh, to Lebanese, to some weird stuff, to oldies to newbies.
This morning we went to the Fairview meeting since it was at 9:30 as compared to Kyla's 12:30. So I got home at 3.
Lots of fun.
Working tonight... not really fun. If you are having fun tonight- think of me.

Went in service all day. 9-5. Won't say I had any great calls, but I got some calls that I haven't seen for awhile. One man is super rich (filthy stinking 'million dollar house and a boat and a caddy escalade and 5 cars...'). He came to the door in spandex shorts and a spandex shirt. I said "I guess you're just heading out?" He's like "You figured that out, did ya?" Anyway, after I came out from his house I realized I had just placed my last set of July mags. YAY.
Meanwhile, Kyla's cat is TERRORIZING our dog. Today at lunch time, I watched him take off and chase a big black lab off our lawn. But when it comes to a kitten with claws- no siree. Not a chance. Wussy poodle :P.
Tomorrow is a big day. We are painting the hall a nice shade of Cadet Blue. Sounds nice. Ok, so I googled "color name" and a site came up to match the RGB (red, green, blue amouts for a color) and it tells you a name). And we are putting in another window on the other side of the hall that has none (right in front of sound :D yay). And we are putting a walkway from the lower parking lot to the main walkway. Loads of fun!
And just remember:

Faith is having the courage to dance to it today. "

Service Days
12:08am 11/07/2006

So, our Kingdom Hall is right across from the ocean. (cool, eh?). Yesterday morning we all arrived to the meeting to find a Porpoise swimming in the water (Porpoise is the smallest whale, similar to a dolphin in appearance). And it was just swimming around and eating. Great fun.
Today I was in service for 7.5 hours with Chanel and Heidi (they're both auxilery pioneering this month). What a day! They talked to a guy who came just in a towel, Heidi broke a bracket on her braces, Chanel told a story of how her family once thought she was possessed, none of my calls that don't like me were home, and I placed at a Do Not Call. We've started taking pictures in service with my camera to remember the days. Fun. Quite possibly the best service day I've had by far. Fun and productive : I placed like 20 mags, 6 brochures and a book today!
And it was a big debate whether to go back to the woman I talked to who is a Druid. Heidi goes to school with her daughter, and she said that the daughter is just as... out there as her mom. I think Heidi said "they can do things that people shouldn't be able to do." Which confirms what the mother told me "People are afraid of my powers." Yeah. The shameful thing is, her boyfriend is so dang interested that he'd study if it wasn't for her (He's scared of her I think. Blame him? NOPE)
Witches. Wow. Kinda puts Hollywood in perspective. I mean, it's one thing to hear about bad movies about witches, wizards, sorcerers, warlocks, etc. But when you meet a real life one, just makes you hate those movies even more. Definately not for a Christian! Yikes.

Well, today was fun. I had the 3 young girls in our hall out in service for the day. We started at 8:30 and finished at 3. And we actually had some good calls! But it was aweful weather. Only a couple clouds could be found in the whole dang blue sky, it was so darned nice and warm, and I don't even think it rained all day. But it was soo much fun. Those girls, I tell you. Two of them are auxillery pioneering this month, and they each took out a territory (their first ones each), and one is the territory where they can walk almost all of it from the house. They're great. One girls mom called me their Pimp Daddy. :S
So, a boat in Newellton (10 mins from my house) blew up today and 2 people were severly injured with first and second degree burns. Wow. North Korea feels that the US' sanctions against them is a declaration of war, today is the one year anniversary of the London terrorist attacks (June Awake! p. 5 has a pic), and Star Jones Reynolds is gone from the View with Rosie O'Donnell to replace her. WHATS THE WORLD COMING TO?!?!

So, at our meeting tonight we kinda mixed it up a bit. We had the part on goals for youths, and what a part! Orville and Heidi Dunn are home for a couple more weeks, so they came down today to stay overnight and come to our meeting. So they were interviewed on the part about how they got to be missionaries in Bolivia. Very awesome. He said people CHASE you for magazines and books. There are 4 missionaries in their home, and between them they figure they place 1200 - 1400 mags a month! They have 83 publishers in their cong (and said half are young people/ children) and at their memorial they had over 400! One Hall near them is a very small congregation and had over a THOUSAND at the memorial. Apparently the thing holding many people back from becoming a Witness is Studying. There are so few Witnesses to study with. Nearly everyone wants to study!!!! CAN YOU IMAGINE!?!? There are all kinds of animals where they are and most are endangered. One bird can now only be found in their area and the locals were like "Please, take one home for your mother!" Truly an inspiration to do more.
Now I come back to my ever present dilemma : MTS or GILEAD?

So I saw the movie CARS tonight. It was actually pretty funny. My favourite quote is by Larry the Cable Guy - "I'm happier 'n a tornado in a trailer park!" Yeah, it was funny. Especially the part when the credits are rolling at the end. If you see the movie, stay for the credits.
So, I saw a girl in Wal-mart today that I used to know. Long story short- her family used to come to the hall, but after her mom got disfellowshipped and her younger sister got pregnant at 15 (she wasn't ever baptized), they all kinda just... stopped. Anyway, so now she's pregnant too. And I really miss them. We used to do practically everything together. *Scarred childhood memories*. And now she's pregnant. Which is the 5th girl I know that is pregnant. Anywho, I said to her "So have you ever thought about coming back?" She kinda hummed and hawed, but she does miss it, I know. So I told her "Listen, just come back to the Hall anytime." I told her that I'll prob have a Public Talk in September and she should come, and she thought that was a good idea. So now I just have to work my magic and find her address/ phone number/ email address to let her know when. Doesn't it kill you when you see someone stop serving Jehovah and see how bad their lives get? They may not see it but we do. And they're blinded into thinking it's alright. All I feel is an aching sympathy for them. It's just not fair.

Matt and Lori's Wedding. Not too Shabby of a shin-dig. There were lots of people and lots to dance with... sadly I didn't dance with them all :P jk. But there were some good speeched made at the reception (especially from Matt's parents. His mom was like "I knew something was up when I stopped getting phone calls in the morning. And turns out he was calling the other woman in his life. :P) There was between 2-2.5 hours between the Ceremony and Reception, so Kyla, Lisa and I went to Rissor's beach for Kyla and Lisa to practice square dancing. They're square dancing at the Graftons going away party which has a country theme. So there we were on the beach on the windiest day yet, in our finest. Well, they were dancing and I was standing there in a suit and shades with my arms crossed. Turns out people probably thought they were famous choreographers and I played the Security. One guy was walking up the beach and even stopped for 5 mins and took lots of pictures. WE'RE FAMOUS.
On another note: do you ever feel bad? Evil? Like you can't ever be good? Like you could honestly kill someone? Well, whenever I look into Kyla's cat's eyes, that's what I see.

Superman and eyebrows
10:04pm 29/06/2006

So, I saw Superman Returns today at the IMAX, Halifax. It has roughly 20 mins of 3D as well. AWESOME MOVIE. Very cool. I just walked away saying "That's it- I'm never going in a plane, car, or boat ever again!" Seriously, if you go see, go for the IMAX. Meanwhile, while waiting in line, I had my 3D glasses in my hand and uh-oh- they snapped. So I took Anastacia with me (to protect me from the evil minimum wage theatre grunts) and got another pair. The guy was like "that'll be 5 bucks." I was thinking "okay.... I'll just cross my eyes." And he said "Just kidding- but it does cost us 5 dollars a pair." Ripoff.
So, I was thinking. Why do we have eyebrows. 2 reason I've come up with: 1) have you seen Whoopie Golberg? No eyebrows works for her, but not too many. 2) Maybe when we are working hard and the sweat beads down, they are to keep the sweat out of our eyes. Ow- it does hurt. I think I shall spend 57 years in paradise examining my eyebrows. Then I think I shall move on to mens nipples. Did Adam and Eve have belly-buttons? Did they care?
